(GONGYO CHUUSHIN)
"In the light of Buddhist truth, we must recognize the errors of our deeds and words and try to seek the truth"

BRIEF HISTORY

Dating back some 200 years, our school was originally used by the Shinshu Sect of Buddhism to educate the monks' sons, and was known as Kagakudo, not Takada. In 1876, other subjects such as history, geography, math and sciences were introduced. In 1895, it was renamed Shinshu Kangakuin and included a junior and senior division. In 1900, it acquired a licence as a private middle school. Under the educational reform in Japan after World War II, a junior and senior high school were established separately along with a co-ed system. A six year course which combined junior and senior high was set up in 1964. In 1994, a full-time Assistant Language Teacher Program and Home Stay Program were set up. Since the school's inception, it has graduated about 28,00 students.
