Dear All of You
To whom it may concern:
My name is Takeshi Murayama. As the son of a farmer,I have developed an intimate knowledge
of and affinity for plant life and the environment. I am currently a high school teacher of history,
however I feel called to go beyond my role as a teacher in order to reach out
to people on a global scale and increase their awareness of and pleasure in the environment.
I've chosen a natural extension of the evvironment-the leaf flute -as a means of connecting
with people throughout the world. I have appeared on television and radio all over Japan
performing my music and speaking.Over the years I have come to be known as 'KUSABUE TARO' ,
the teaching leaf flute player in Japan. Many people are surprised and delighted at the
potential of a single leaf to make such powerful music, often spanning three Octaves.
At the end of August, a compilation of songs and pieces I've composed on the leaf flute
will be released on CD.
It is my most sincere wish to go to America and play from my heart for an American audience.
and wish to go to your country and play a leaf flute from my hot heart for your peopl at home.
Our languages and cuitures may be different, but we share the same world and hopes of peace.
In order to realize my dream, it will be necessary for me to have a sponsor that can connect
me with an audience. I hope you will consider giving me the opportunity to play for you and
